What is a Health and Safety Policy?

The law states that every business must have a policy for managing health and safety. If you have fewer than five employees you don’t have to write down your health and safety policy but it’s good practice and we’ve made it easy.

This policy can be used to describe how your company will maintain a safe, healthy and secure working environment. It outlines clearly who is responsible for what, when and how. 

Why is a Health and Safety Policy important?

A health and safety policy sets out your general approach to health and safety. It explains how you, as an employer, will manage health and safety in your business. The policy does not need to be complicated or time-consuming.
